Introducing the Wellbeing Sessions: A Journey to Mind and Body Wellness
At The Kiwi Kit Community Trust, we believe that true wellbeing encompasses both mind and body. That's why we're thrilled to introduce our Wellbeing Sessions—a series of workshops designed to foster a sense of holistic wellness through movement, creativity, and relaxation.
These sessions are hosted by the talented Melina Shabel from Afro Dance Queenstown and will provide an inclusive and supportive environment for all participants. Everyone is welcome and all classes are completely free!

Movement Session:
Afro Connection

This community dance class focuses on Afro Dance; grooving to Afro Brazilian, Afro Guinean, and Afro Cuban beats.

Meditative Art Session

Meet Your Host: Melina
Born and raised in Argentina, Melina brings a contagious love for dance and an extensive 15-year journey of grooving to Afro Brazilian, Afro Guinean, and Afro Cuban beats. Melina has been spreading the dance bug across continents, from Argentina to Mexico, and now gracing the stunning landscapes of New Zealand. Since 2021, she's been sharing her passion and knowledge in Queenstown, captivating dance enthusiasts with her vibrant energy and rich cultural rhythms.
For Melina, dance is her language, her passion, and her reason for being. And to her, moving the body is not just an act—it's an expression of life itself. She has dedicated herself to learning and sharing this profound connection with others, creating and delivering captivating performances that ignite her soul.
Dance, for Melina, isn't just about movement; it's a gateway to connect our minds, breath, and bodies. She seamlessly integrates stretching, yoga, and meditation with dance, creating a holistic experience that uplifts and energizes. Melina's purpose is to facilitate this holistic journey, ensuring that everyone who attends her classes leaves with renewed energy and joy.
